- 1 quart Tomatoes
- 2/3 cup Sugar
- 1 tsp. Nutmeg
- Pie crust
Cut tomatoes in small pieces and mix with sugar, nutmeg. Rinse jar with 1 cup water. Add this water to the mixture and stir. Put half of mixture in 1 1/2 quart casserole dish.
HERE YOU HAVE A COUPLE OF OPTIONS for the crust:
Roll pie crust into a thin sheet and fit to bottom of pan. Add tomato mixture. Then roll crust thin and place on top to fit to dish.
OR instead of crust, pinch dough into small dumplings and sprinkle over mixture.
Bake at 350^F for 25-30 minutes.
