Cowboy Punch

Ok, I have to say this recipe has been around the family a few 100 times.  So I’m sure they won’t mind if I share it here.  If they do get upset, tell ’em you heard it here first! 😛

Now there are parties and then there are Cowboy Parties.  Cowboy parties, can and have been known to last for days.  Only stopping the fun to take care of the ranch chores and then returning to where you left off.  Now, IIIII would NEVER do something like that, but I have heard about it. 😛

Ok, Okay!  You caught me off guard and twisted my arm.  I admit, I have attended a few.  Haha… And thrown a few too!

Here is one of the drinks that has been served at a number of them.

A Touch of Country….

As Spring is upon us, I think of spring cleaning, updating outdated styles and putting a new spin on outdated furniture, clothing and the like.  Yet, wanting to keep the standard of the Western Lifestyle and not compromise that Western Way of Thinking I’m so fond of.  (Yes, I’m thinking about gardening too, but that’s a story for another post later.)

Now, I’m seriously country.  As I said before, if it has a horse in it, related to it or just a horse period,  I WILL like it!  So as I sit here staring at the panelling in my house I ponder the possibilities of updating an old look.  Without breaking the bank to do it.  Or, overloading my already hectic schedule with one more project.

Let’s make it Western

Mountain Oysters and Sweetbreads

Alright, I’ve had many requests for this recipe.  So after much research, I’ve found one that will satisfy even the most unusual of the unusual recipe seekers.

Now, if you don’t know what Mountain Oysters (also known as Prairie Oysters) are, I highly suggest you look this up before you decide to make them.  And yes, you’re probably going to be shocked when you find out what they are.

I know what they are, and will tell you they are a delicacy enjoyed by many cowboys at branding time.

Hush Puppies

Now I’ve always known that Hush Puppies are something you eat.  However, when I was a kid, there was a shoe that came out call Hush Puppies.

It’s a given, I’m not going to be talking about a shoe or better yet, telling you how to make one.

This is the real deal.  Another delicious recipe, that is quick and very simple to make.
