Ya, you read that right.
I can remember as a child that if whatever ailed you wasn’t cured by one of these, you were surely gunna die. haha Just kidding. But I do remember that it seemed to be good for whatever ailed you. Sore muscles to a stuffy nose.
So this may not be, just what the doctor ordered. But, here’s the recipe anyway.
- 1 tsp. Powdered Sugar
- 1 tsp. Butter
- 1/8 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
- 4 to 6 oz Boiling Water (that would be 1/2 to 3/4 cup)
- 2 oz. Blended Whiskey (that would be 1/4 cup)
In a warmed mug.
Alright, THIS IS A CRUCIAL STEP! You need to start with a warm mug, or this will cool too quickly and will just taste froggy in my opinion.
So, first things first. If you have a dishwasher put the mugs on the top shelf and run it through the rinse cycle. When they come out they will be nice and warm. Alternatively, place half cup of water in each mug and place them in the microwave for one minute. Empty water out before mixing the ingredients of the toddy.
Now, in the warmed mug combine, sugar, butter, cinnamon and a splash of HOT water. (Another crucial step because you have to melt the butter.) Stir to melt the butter. Add whiskey and additional hot water to taste.
OK, MUGS UP! Now the hard part is getting it down. 😛
