Here is a little tidbit of a recipe that I found tucked away in a book that actually had nothing to do with recipes OR skunks. haha
Spring is a great time of year for all the critters to come out and play. And I use the term “play” VERY loosely. As my dogs “play”. Skunks just make things smell like a skunk. And my dogs care for skunks less than I do.
So when I found this recipe that my Grandmother had given me so long ago, I was more than thrilled, to say the least. It also made me think of all our readers that have probably had their fair share of skunks too. So here’s the recipe. I’d like some feedback on this one! So please share some of your skunk stories and the methods you use to “deskunk” that skunk.
- 1 qt. Hydrogen Peroxide
- 1/4 cup Baking Soda
- 1 tbls. Dawn Dish Soap
Mix all the ingredients together. Use this washing solution (shampoo) and work into an all over lather. Leave on for 5 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly.
IT REALLY WORKS!
