Trivia Tuesday ~ Toast on wheels

Trivia Tuesday ~ Toast on wheels

No it’s not actually toast on wheels.  But it IS Trivia Tuesday!  So the question is, “Where did the idea for a toaster originate?”.

The first “automatic” turnover toaster was patented in 1914 by Lloyd Copeman.  The patent, however, is held by his wife Hazel B. Copeman.  It is believed that his wife wanted a better way to toast the bread and asked her husband, Llyod, if there was a better way to do it.  From there history was in the making.

Turn the toast please

Memorial Day ~ Remembering the Fallen

Memorial Day ~ Remembering the Fallen

To some I am outdated.  To others I’m symbolic of another time, another era if you will.  A time when honor, valor, morals, family values, being strong and standing by your beliefs meant something.  Not to say they don’t still, but I feel it has lost something along the way.  I think that history is worth remembering, and worth revisiting so that we can be reminded how far we’ve come……….. and who is truly responsible for our rights and freedoms.

EHV-1 A cause for concern?

Anybody that’s in the horse industry, lives on a ranch or farm, follows the show circuit, competes in the competitive arena, or just follows the western industry KNOWS that there is a very dangerous virus out there.  This virus is dangerous, but apparently not to us.  We as humans can’t contract the virus.  However, we can help the spread of it, if precautions aren’t taken from the onset.

The percentage of horses infected are on the rise and making a great cause for concern.

Quick and Easy Pulled Pork Tenderloin

May is barbecue month!  As the end of the month nears, I want to remind everyone that’s it’s going to go out with a bang.  With everyone celebrating MEMORIAL WEEKEND!  Ahh, the long-awaited, and possibly well deserved three-day weekend.  Now, what do you fix to go along with this great weekend?

Let me see if I can sum up this equation for everyone.  Three days, good food, good friends and lots of family.  Did I mention three days? 😀  Ok, together we can make your next “cowboy party” a success.  I’ll provide the best recipe with the least amount of time needed to prepare and grill it.  You provide the friends and family! 😛

May 16th ~ A Not So Trivia Tuesday

May 16th ~ A Not So Trivia Tuesday

Never fear, Tuesday is here!  No, it’s not really Tuesday, but I couldn’t resist sharing another one of the great things we’ve been doing.

One of the best things I love about my family, is that it’s always “family” time.  Working or playing it’s all about the family, and moreover all about the kids.  No matter where we’ve been, what we’ve been doing, and where we’re going in the future, family is always the largest part of the equation.

It’s been said that kids are our future.  And if you take care of the future, the future will take care of you.  So having said that, it’s really all about the kids and grandkids isn’t it?  Raising them right, and making sure they now the past (which to me ensures their future successes).

May 10th ~ What happened?

May 10th ~ What happened?

Ok now I know I’ve been off the grid for a couple of weeks, but there’s been alot going on.  So in short, let’s get right to it and I’ll show you what I’ve been up to.

Let’s tackle them one at a time.  First, let’s cover Trivia Tuesday for May 10th.  What is so historical about May 10th?  Anything come to mind?  I actually came up with a couple of things on my own, but for the most part I had to google it.  I found some pretty interesting things.  Here’s a short list for those wonderful history buffs.
