Trivia Tuesday ~ Ice Cream Receives National Recognition

Trivia Tuesday ~ Ice Cream Receives National Recognition

Trivia Tuesday!  Ready?  Ok, this is corny, but it’s the best clue I could come up with.
I scream, you scream, we all scream – – – ?

That’s right, everyone’s favorite…. ICE CREAM!

It will be honored this month.  And it’s official too!  In 1984, former President Ronald Regan proclaimed July as National Ice Cream Month.  Now I don’t know about you, but ice cream is my favorite, any time of year!  But, if they want me to eat more ice cream in July, I can certainly do that, and I’m sure the kids and grandkids won’t mind doing their part in helping celebrate either. 😛

Make that a triple decker!

Father’s Day a Late Bloomer

Father’s Day a Late Bloomer

It’s interesting to find the history behind this or that, and Father’s Day is of no exception when it comes to its place in history.  So I took to task, of finding out just how Father’s Day came to pass.

Everyone’s perception of how, or why, Father’s Day came to be, is simple.  To honor the selfless acts of love and sacrifices our parent of the male gender have made through the years for us, the loving children that respect and admire our Dads on this glorious day.

But, did you know…

Memorial Day ~ Remembering the Fallen

Memorial Day ~ Remembering the Fallen

To some I am outdated.  To others I’m symbolic of another time, another era if you will.  A time when honor, valor, morals, family values, being strong and standing by your beliefs meant something.  Not to say they don’t still, but I feel it has lost something along the way.  I think that history is worth remembering, and worth revisiting so that we can be reminded how far we’ve come……….. and who is truly responsible for our rights and freedoms.

Tribute
